Job Summary:
Apply knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering theory and methods to the design of automation, intelligent systems, smart devices, or industrial systems control by performing the following duties.

Job Duties:

  • Design, develop, and test all aspects of control systems and components, equipment, and machinery.
  • Responsible for the installation and operational qualification of tools/jigs, equipment, control systems, PLC-based hardware and software, plus all associated documentation at all facility locations.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering, design software, and equipment to perform assignments.
  • Apply principles and techniques of electrical/mechanical engineering to accomplish goals.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain products/equipment.
  • Train employees, identify, analyze, and repair product failures, order and replace parts as needed.
  • Determine and recommend which products or services best fit the project needs.
  • Demonstrate core values of honesty, integrity, and respect.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.

Impact:

  • Provide daily maintenance in specialized areas requiring a multi-disciplinary technical understanding for complex troubleshooting, modification, assembly, and/or testing.
  • Communicate with Plant Engineering Manager to gain approval/escalate necessary changes for plant maintenance.
  • Work is generally independent and collaborative.

Starting Salary: $102-117K

Position Requirements:

Analysis/Problem Solving:

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.

Communication:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Skills/Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in most, if not all, of the following competencies/skills: Instrument Control, Performance Analysis, Power Management, Process Optimization, Reliability Analysis, Schematic Capture, Statistical Process Control, Technical Troubleshooting, Control Systems, Device Integration, SCADA Architecture, Programmable Logic Control (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI), Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software.
  • Familiar with a variety of electrical and control system concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Familiar with medical device equipment design concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • PLC knowledge as well as Robotics training a plus.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks or another type of design software (ACAD, Pro-E, etc.)
  • Equipment/system design (mechanical and electrical)
  • Hands-on ability (basic electro-mechanical, wiring, etc.)

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of regulated type industries a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical device manufacturing and supplies a plus.
  • World-class manufacturing knowledge a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Automation or Controls Engineering, Electrical or Industrial Engineering required.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of related experience in the field or in a related field.
