The client is a leading logistics organization in Saudi Arabia, currently undergoing an exciting transformation into an independent third-party logistics provider. With one of the largest automated logistics facilities in the region (300,000 m² and 110,000 pallet capacity), the company offers end-to-end logistics services including warehousing, distribution, and transport. As Saudi Arabia's e-commerce and industrial sectors grow, the client is poised to capture a significant share of the expanding 3PL market, projected to reach USD 18.7 billion by 2029.
About the Role
We are looking for a visionary and results-driven General Manager to lead a well-established logistics company through its transformation into a leading independent 3PL provider. This role offers full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility and spans leadership across strategic, commercial, and operational domains.
As the company evolves into a standalone logistics entity, the General Manager will shape its strategy, spearhead growth initiatives, and drive operational excellence. This is a rare opportunity to helm an ambitious venture backed by a legacy of excellence, robust infrastructure, and a dynamic market landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the strategic roadmap aligned with board directives and market opportunities.
- P&L and Business Management: Manage the business with full P&L responsibility. Set and monitor financial targets, budgets, and KPIs.
- Commercial Growth: Drive revenue growth by acquiring new clients, particularly in FMCG and e-commerce, and expanding service lines.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee warehouse, transportation, and distribution operations. Champion process optimization and service quality.
- Organizational Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing cross-functional team. Foster a culture of innovation, performance, and accountability.
- Transformation Management: Oversee the successful separation of the logistics business from the parent company. Establish independent operations, identity, and processes.
- Strategic Partnerships: Build and nurture relationships with technology providers, transport carriers, and key clients.
- Market Strategy & Innovation: Monitor industry trends and adapt business models. Drive digital transformation and customer-centric innovations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company to major clients, partners, and stakeholders. Collaborate closely with the parent groups leadership
Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrated experience managing business units with full P&L ownership.
- In-depth understanding of end-to-end logistics operations and the regional market landscape.
- Proven ability to scale businesses, negotiate contracts, and forge lasting client relationships.
- Strong expertise in warehousing and transportation operations, including the use of advanced WMS/TMS systems.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into action.
- Excellent leadership, change management, and stakeholder communication skills.
- English fluency required; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
