RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and deliver age-appropriate gymnastics programs for early years through senior school students.
- Teach foundational and advanced skills in floor, vault, balance beam, uneven bars, pommel horse, rings, parallel bars, and high bar.
- Progressively develop students from basic motor skills to structured routines and competitive-level performances.
- Implement safe training methodologies following international coaching standards.
- Prepare and guide students for inter-school, district, state, national, and international competitions, including developing gymnasts for Olympic-level performance
- Foster confidence, discipline, resilience, teamwork, and self-belief through sport.
- Identify talented students and guide them through structured development pathways.
- Provide individualized feedback, performance tracking, and developmental guidance. Ensure inclusive participation for all students regardless of gender, ability, or background.
- Develop long-term gymnastics curriculum frameworks aligned with FIG and national federation standards, integrating both WAG and MAG disciplines.
- Introduce innovative training formats such as movement labs, skill circuits, and themed modules.
- Organize workshops, demonstration classes, gymnastics festivals, and parent-student showcases.
- Support the establishment of a center of excellence within the school's sports ecosystem.
- Ensure strict adherence to child safeguarding, safety protocols, and injury prevention measures.
- Inspect and maintain equipment and facilities for safety and hygiene compliance.
- Administer basic first aid and coordinate with the school medical team as required.
- Collaborate with Physical Education teachers to integrate gymnastics into the broader curriculum.
- Maintain student attendance, performance records, and developmental reports.
- Support school events including Annual Sports Day, inter-school tournaments, and assemblies.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and institutional initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or Certificate in Gymnastics Coaching, Sports Science, Physical Education, or related field; Bachelor's degree (B.P.Ed/M.P.Ed) preferred.
- International coaching certification (FIG or recognized national federations) preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of gymnastics coaching experience in schools, academies, or training centers
- Experience working with children and adolescents across multiple age groups (mandatory)
- Experience in competitive or structured gymnastics programs (desirable)
- Proven track record in developing gymnasts for national or international competitions
- Strong technical knowledge of gymnastics disciplines, skill progressions, and pedagogy
- Knowledge of sports science, conditioning, flexibility, strength, injury prevention, and recovery
- Experience mentoring and training assistant coaches and junior staff
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and child engagement skills
- High levels of professionalism, emotional intelligence, patience, and cultural sensitivity
- Commitment to safety, ethics, inclusive education, and child safeguarding
- Ability to innovate and develop long-term, progressive, and child-centred gymnastics programs
- Comfortable integrating complementary disciplines such as yoga, martial arts, or mobility training
- Ability to track KPIs including student participation, retention, skill progression, and competition performance
- Willingness to adapt to Indian school culture, relocate, and work within regulatory requirements; support for work visa, onboarding, and cultural orientation provided.
