Overview:

The Accounting & HR Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting various accounting & human resources & recruiting tasks and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of operations. This on-site position will work out of the Albany & Vadlosta locations, where you will work closely with the accounting & HR team and other departments to maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

  • Must have 2+ years of experience in an accounting role (A/P, A/R. Reconciliations, Monthly reports, etc.)
  • Must have 2+ years of experience in human resources; preferably in recruiting (Sourcing, Job Boards, ATS, Pre-screening)
  • Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to travel as needed to other offices in SOWEGA during regular office hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable: Process invoices, verify transaction information, schedule and prepare payments, and reconcile vendor statements.
  • Accounts Receivable: Prepare and send invoices, track payments, follow up on overdue accounts, and assist in maintaining customer accounts.
  • Data Entry: Accurately enter financial transactions into accounting software, maintain organized records, and ensure data integrity.
  • Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including filing, answering phone calls, and managing correspondence.
  • Recruiting: Source and recruit candidates for open positions using various job boards and other databases; screen candidates; schedule interviews for hiring managers
  • ON-Boarding: Prepare new hires for onboarding and other new hire paperwork and trainings.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall efficiency of the finance department.
