Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer to join a global fintech organization specializing in cross-border payments technology. This role is ideal for a hands-on quality engineering professional who takes ownership of quality end-to-end, drives test automation strategy, and helps modernize testing practices across large-scale payment platforms. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership capabilities to shape quality standards and mentor engineering teams.
What You Will Do:
- Design and own integration test frameworks and contract testing solutions for critical financial transaction flows and partner integrations.
- Lead the development of test automation frameworks that support production release processes across onboarding, compliance, payments, foreign exchange, settlement, and related domains.
- Define and maintain the appropriate balance between manual and automated testing strategies.
- Develop and execute automated tests using modern frameworks such as Playwright or equivalent technologies.
- Own CI/CD quality strategy, including release gating, test reliability, infrastructure health, and defect management processes.
- Investigate production incidents and translate findings into automated tests, process improvements, and quality enhancements.
- Lead test architecture reviews, establish quality standards, and provide technical mentorship to QA engineers.
- Drive the adoption of AI-assisted testing tools and modern quality engineering practices.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Architecture, and Compliance teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
What Makes You a Good Fit:
- 6 to 10+ years of experience designing and building production-grade test automation solutions.
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C#, or similar languages.
- Proven experience in test framework design, system design, and quality architecture.
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases for testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Bruno, or equivalent.
- Strong experience with UI automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of functional and non-functional testing methodologies, including performance, load, resilience, reliability, and security testing.
- Experience balancing manual and automated testing approaches to achieve optimal quality outcomes.
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development and testing tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with AWS cloud environments and CI/CD pipeline ownership, including release gate implementation.
- Prior experience within payments, foreign exchange, fintech, or other regulated industries.
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience in quality engineering, including test architecture decisions and code reviews.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with contract testing frameworks such as Pact or equivalent.
- Experience testing desktop or Windows-based applications.
- Mobile application test automation experience.
- Experience leading test modernization initiatives or enterprise quality transformation programs.
