About the job Chief Executive Office (CEO) I ICT Infrastructure & Systems Integration
Our client is a Bursa Malaysia Main Market-listed technology and digital solutions group currently undergoing a strategic rebranding and transformation, operating across three distinct but complementary business lines: (1) a Microsoft solutions reseller business, (2) a project-based software development practice, and (3) a portfolio of scalable digital platforms. The CEO will provide end-to-end strategic and operational leadership across all three, each with a fundamentally different economic model, and will be the architect of how they are sequenced, resourced and integrated into a coherent group strategy.
This is a hands-on, builder-CEO role. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to conceive, launch and scale technology businesses — ideally having personally built or led at least one of the three business models described below — combined with the governance discipline of operating within a listed company environment.
The CEO will focus on strategy, operations and organizational execution; capital markets activity (fundraising, placements, M&A execution) remains led by the Group CFO, with the CEO providing business-case input and operational readiness.
What will you do:
1. Digital Platforms — Scalable Growth Engine (Top Priority)
- Own the strategic vision and roadmap for the group's digital platform businesses, positioning them as the primary long-term value and margin driver.
- Identify, evaluate and prioritise platform opportunities (including AI-enabled platforms) that can scale with strong unit economics and recurring/repeatable revenue.
- Set go-to-market, monetisation and growth strategy for each platform; drive user/customer acquisition, retention and platform economics.
- Build the product, engineering and data capabilities required to scale platforms, partnering with the Software Development unit where relevant.
- Establish metrics and governance to track platform performance and make disciplined scale/invest/exit decisions.
2. Software Development — Project-Based Delivery & Workforce Strategy
- Set strategy and oversee delivery for the software development business, recognising its project-based, seasonal demand profile.
- Design and execute a flexible manpower strategy — balancing a core permanent bench with contract, partner and outsourced resourcing — to manage utilisation and margins through demand peaks and troughs.
- Oversee project pipeline, resourcing forecasts and delivery governance to ensure consistent quality, on-time delivery and profitability across engagements.
- Build reusable accelerators, frameworks and IP from client projects that can feed into or cross-sell the digital platforms business.
- Own client relationships for strategic accounts and support business development for new project wins.
3. Microsoft Reseller / IT Solutions — Core Base Business
- Maintain and strengthen the Microsoft reseller and IT solutions business as a stable revenue base, while actively managing its inherently lower-margin economics.
- Drive operational efficiency, vendor relationship management (including Microsoft partner status/tiering) and cost discipline to protect margins.
- Identify opportunities to upsell managed services, cloud and value-added solutions to the existing customer base.
- Evaluate the reseller business's strategic role over time — as a customer acquisition channel, cash generator and cross-sell base for platforms and software development.
4. Group Strategy, Organisational Leadership & Talent
- Translate the overall group vision into an integrated strategy that sequences investment and management attention across the three business lines, with digital platforms as the priority focus.
- Build and lead a senior leadership team capable of running each business line, with clear accountability, KPIs and P&L ownership at the business-unit level.
- Drive a group-wide talent and organisational strategy that accommodates the different workforce models required (stable base for reseller/platforms vs. flexible/seasonal for software development).
- Foster a unified, performance-driven culture across three otherwise distinct business models operating under one listed entity.
5. Listed Company Governance & Compliance
- Operate within the governance, disclosure and conduct standards expected of a CEO of a Bursa Malaysia Main Market-listed company.
- Work closely with the Board, Audit Committee and Group CFO on financial reporting integrity, internal controls and statutory/regulatory compliance.
- Ensure business strategy and material developments are properly and timely communicated for Bursa disclosure purposes, in coordination with the company secretarial and investor relations functions.
- Support the Group CFO on fundraising, M&A and other corporate exercises by providing business strategy input, due diligence support and post-transaction operational integration — while day-to-day ownership of these exercises remains with the Group CFO.
Who are we looking for:
Experience
- Minimum 12–15 years of progressive leadership experience in technology, digital or IT services businesses, including at least 5 years in a CEO, Managing Director, or equivalent P&L leadership role.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in at least one, ideally more, of: (i) building or scaling a digital platform business, (ii) leading a project-based software development/IT services practice, (iii) operating a technology reseller or managed services business.
- Prior experience in a Bursa Malaysia or other stock exchange-listed company is strongly preferred, with working familiarity with audit processes, listing requirements and corporate governance obligations.
- Track record of building and leading senior management teams across multiple business units with differing operating models.
- Experience designing flexible workforce models for project- or seasonally-driven businesses is a strong advantage.
Skills & Attributes
- Strategic, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to see and execute the A-to-Z of a multi-model technology group.
- Strong commercial and P&L management capability across differing margin and revenue profiles.
- Credible, hands-on technology and digital acumen — able to engage substantively with product, engineering and platform economics, not purely from a business standpoint.
- High personal integrity and comfort operating under listed company governance and public accountability.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to work closely with the Group CEO, Board, Group CFO and external parties (regulators, key vendors such as Microsoft, strategic partners).
