We are looking for an Assistant Manager, Field Operations to take a hands-on role in managing and improving automotive operations across multiple locations. You will oversee day-to-day execution, team performance, resource planning, and service quality while ensuring operations run efficiently and consistently.

This role is ideal for an experienced automotive operations professional who enjoys managing teams, solving operational challenges, and driving improvements in a high-volume environment.

Office Location: Bandar Bukit Raja, 41050 Klang, Selangor.

What Will You Do:

  • Oversee daily operations across assigned automotive facilities and ensure activities run according to operational requirements.
  • Lead Supervisors, Team Leaders, and frontline teams to achieve productivity and service targets.
  • Review operational performance, including turnaround time, productivity, quality, cost, and manpower utilization.
  • Identify bottlenecks, recurring operational issues, and areas of underperformance, then implement appropriate improvement actions.
  • Ensure workshop and vehicle reconditioning activities are carried out efficiently and according to required quality and safety standards.
  • Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, tools, and other operational resources based on business requirements.
  • Conduct regular operational reviews, site inspections, and performance checks to maintain consistent standards.
  • Work with internal departments such as Quality, Spare Parts, Customer Experience, Warranty, and Retail to resolve operational issues.
  • Support the launch, relocation, or expansion of operational sites by ensuring teams, processes, and resources are ready.
  • Coach team members and provide guidance to strengthen operational capabilities and overall team performance.
  • Monitor operating costs and identify opportunities to improve resource utilization and efficiency.
  • Prepare management updates covering operational performance, productivity, issues, and improvement initiatives.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

What Makes You a Good Fit:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in automotive, workshop, field, service, or high-volume operations.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing or supervising teams.
  • Practical understanding of automotive workshop, Body & Paint, servicing, or vehicle reconditioning operations.
  • Strong experience managing operational KPIs and improving team productivity.
  • Confident in handling manpower planning, resource allocation, and operational problem-solving.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to motivate frontline teams.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to identify operational trends and take corrective action.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with operational reports and performance data.
  • Comfortable travelling between locations when required.
  • Able to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment.
