Director, Rebuild India Fund

We are hiring a Director Rebuild India Fund for one of our esteemed partner organizations, a leading impact-driven entity that works at the intersection of philanthropy, grassroots development, and systems change.
The Rebuild India Fund is a groundbreaking initiative that provides long-term, flexible funding and capacity-building support to community-driven NGOs across India. The fund champions equity, inclusion, and participatory grant-making, ensuring that resources reach the most vulnerable communities through trusted local organizations.
About the Role:
As the Director, you will lead and shape the Funds strategy, partnerships, and operations, driving its growth and impact. You will build and nurture relationships with funders, oversee grant-making and capacity-building efforts, and position the Fund as a leader in community-driven development. A key aspect of this role is mentoring and developing future leaders to sustain the Funds long-term vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership and Management:
- Lead the strategic direction and operations of the Rebuild India Fund, ensuring alignment with its mission and vision.
- Manage relationships with funders, from onboarding and activation to deep, long-term engagement.
- Act as the key representative for the Fund, engaging with diverse stakeholders, including donors, partners, and communities.
- Navigate and negotiate with large funding agencies and experienced funders.
Program Strategy and Portfolio Management:
- Co-create and refine the program strategy to address key areas such as resilience, community empowerment, participatory grant-making, and scaling the Funds impact.
- Oversee the portfolio strategy, ensuring a balanced approach that delivers impact, scalability, and sustainability.
- Craft and implement a narrative strategy to position the Fund as a leader in community-driven development and resilience.
- Manage multiple large grants and strategic partnerships.
People and Program Processes:
- Establish and oversee processes for effective program management, measurement, and evaluation.
- Play an active role in identifying, mentoring, and developing future leadership within the team, ensuring long-term sustainability.
Thought Leadership and External Representation:
- Represent the Fund at industry conferences, events, and roundtables.
- Contribute to thought leadership by publishing articles, case studies, and insights on the Funds work and impact.
- Engage with media, academic platforms, and advocacy channels to amplify the Funds mission and contributions.
Who You Are:
- An experienced leader with 10+ years in social impact, philanthropy, or program leadership, including at least 5 years in senior roles.
- A strategic thinker with expertise in fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and large-scale program management.
- A champion of community-led development, with a deep understanding of the Indian and global development landscape.
- An exceptional communicator and relationship builder, able to engage with funders, partners, and grassroots organizations.
