Who and what are we looking for?
We are seeking a talented and analytical Data/ Business Analyst to join our team. As a Data/ Business Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to extract valuable insights and support data-driven decision-making processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements, design data models, and generate reports that contribute to organizational growth and success.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
Data Collection and Preparation:
- Gather and collect data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Cleanse, transform, and format data to ensure consistency and usability.
- Develop data acquisition and data quality assurance processes.
Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Apply statistical analysis techniques to explore and interpret large datasets.
- Identify trends, patterns, and correlations in data to uncover insights and opportunities.
- Perform advanced analytics, such as predictive modeling and segmentation, to support business goals.
Data Visualization and Reporting:
- Create visually appealing and informative reports, dashboards, and presentations.
- Communicate complex data findings and insights in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders.
- Develop interactive data visualizations to facilitate data exploration and understanding.
Business Intelligence and Decision Support:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses and provide data-driven recommendations to support decision-making.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to drive operational improvements.
Data Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Establish data governance frameworks and best practices.
- Maintain documentation of data processes and procedures.
- Able to travel to project sites if required for data collection and management.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience as Project, Data or Business Analyst with 2-5 years of experience in supervisory role
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL, or similar programming languages.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Excel or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques and predictive modeling.
- Knowledge of data cleansing, transformation, and preparation techniques specific to forestry, agriculture, or horticulture data.
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in the context of forestry, agriculture, or horticulture domains.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders from various departments.
- Experience with data governance, data quality, and data management principles is desirable.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and algorithms is a plus.
