Job Description:
Are you passionate about driving positive change in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Kenya? Do you have a proven track record of successfully raising funds for impactful initiatives? If so, we want you to join our team as a Corporate Philanthropy Lead.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate philanthropy strategy aimed at raising 5-10 million USD per annum to support our initiatives focused on gender equality, climate action, and nonprofit effectiveness in India.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with corporate donors, foundations, and other potential funding partners to secure financial support for our programs and projects.
- Lead the identification and cultivation of prospective donors, including conducting research, initiating outreach efforts, and delivering compelling presentations to engage potential supporters.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling funding proposals, grant applications, and impact reports that effectively communicate our organization's mission, goals, and achievements.
- Manage all aspects of the fundraising process, including prospect research, donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, to ensure a robust pipeline of funding opportunities.
- Stay abreast of trends and developments in corporate philanthropy, CSR initiatives, and funding opportunities in India, and incorporate relevant insights into our fundraising strategies.
- Represent the organization at networking events, conferences, and other relevant forums to promote our mission, build strategic partnerships, and expand our donor base.

- Deep Awareness on Gender and Climate Intersectionality: The ideal candidate should possess a nuanced understanding of the intersectional impacts of gender and climate change, recognizing how these intersecting factors affect vulnerable populations differently. They should be able to articulate the gendered dimensions of climate change impacts and develop strategies to address gender inequalities within climate action initiatives.
- Expertise in Climate Adaptation for Small-Scale Farmers: Candidates should have a strong background in climate adaptation strategies, particularly as they relate to small-scale farmers in India. They should be familiar with innovative approaches to building resilience among agricultural communities facing climate-related challenges, including droughts, floods, and extreme weather events.
- Experience in Building Climate Knowledge for Grassroots NGOs: The candidate should have experience in developing and delivering capacity-building programs to enhance climate knowledge and resilience among grassroots NGOs and community-based organizations. They should be able to design training materials, workshops, and resources tailored to the needs of diverse stakeholders working at the local level.
- Strategic Vision and Platform Building: We are seeking a candidate who can think strategically and envision the big picture. They should have a proven ability to develop and implement long-term strategies for scaling impact, including the creation of a platform or network that can reach and support 100,000 NGOs within the next 10 years. This requires innovative thinking, strong leadership skills, and the ability to mobilize resources effectively.
- Leadership of Cross-Thematic Team: The Corporate Philanthropy Lead will oversee a team of four individuals, each focusing on different thematic areas related to gender equality, climate action, and nonprofit effectiveness. Each team member will be backed by a technical expert from the program team to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field (such as nonprofit management, fundraising, business administration, or communications); advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of [8] years of experience in corporate fundraising, philanthropy, or related fields, with a demonstrated track record of successfully raising funds from corporate donors and foundations.
- Deep understanding of the Indian philanthropic landscape, including knowledge of key players, funding trends, and CSR regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic fundraising plans, drive revenue growth, and meet ambitious fundraising targets.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for social impact and a commitment to advancing gender equality, environmental sustainability, and nonprofit effectiveness in India.
