Role: Program Lead Maharashtra
Experience: 7-10 Years
Location: Mumbai (with travel expected across Maharashtra)

Role Overview:
The Program Lead will be responsible for the complete performance and execution of the project. Key responsibilities include liaising with state governments and other organizations, conducting teacher trainings and meetings, collecting and making data-driven decisions, working with internal functional teams (content, media, tech, etc.), conducting research, and managing a team of 10 direct reports and an overall team of approximately 70-80 people across Maharashtra.

Key Responsibilities

1.   Team Management:

Lead a team of 70-80 district coordinators, program managers, and senior program managers to manage day-to-day operations related to the rollout and maintenance of educational products for parent and anganwadis.

2.    Government Advocacy:

-Drive the Early Childhood Education (ECE) agenda with district-level heads of ICDS (DPOs), the state Department of Women and Child Development (WCD), and other related departments in Mumbai/Pune.

-Liaise with IAS officers across state and district levels.

3.    Internal Coordination with Cross-functional Teams :

Collaborate with internal teams on upskilling, data, product, technology, and content to improve operational and product metrics and support strategic projects.

Key Results Expected:

  • 7-10 years of experience working with government systems in early grade education.
  • Proven ability to liaise with government officials regularly.

  • Lead a team impacting millions of young learners in Maharashtra.

  • Apply data analysis to generate actionable insights from field data.

  • Innovate using technology and social media to engage low-income parents.

  • Work with elite researchers and experimental studies (e.g., JPAL).

  • Coordinate with multiple internal functions while managing field teams.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong relationship-building and team management capabilities.

  • Experience in education or other social impact sectors.

  • Strong data interpretation skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Fluency in Marathi is essential.

  • Process and initiative scaling abilities.

  • Comfort with using technology in operations.
