Roles and Responsibilities

1. Organization development (15%)

  • Contribute to strategic planning and governance of the organization, engaging with the SMT, leading on developing Annual planning (AOP) and Board level reporting and interactions
  • Coordinate with SMT and Head - Finance for preparation of Annual budgets and monitor progress on the same
  • Corporate communications and visibility Supervise the Communications Manager and provide guidance for development of corporate communication strategies, help in developing materials such as corporate presentations, brochures, website, and support strategy for dissemination and visibility
  • Responsible for development and implementation of organizational systems for monitoring and review

2. Business Development and Brand Building (40%)

  • Undertake periodic analysis of competition and business environment and generate considered shortlist of potential mission aligned donors mainly focusing on corporates and private foundations.
  • Attract new and past donors for partnership across all thematic areas (farm sector, non-farm sector, financial inclusion) through consistent engagement and relationship building.
  • Generate ideas and propositions and pitch to appropriate donors, develop high quality proposals and presentations and follow-up, while pursuing pre-determined annual target of new business development in terms of financial outlay and number of new donor relationships.
  • Represent organisation in public forums, conferences, and stakeholder meetings for establishing brand as though and practice leader.

3. Donor account management (15%) - 

  • Manage important and strategic donor accounts as key responsible/point person across existing and new projects.
  • Proactively engage with multiple levels of representatives in the identified donor accounts to maintain consistent communication and rapport.
  • Oversight on progress of project deliverables and budget utilization.
  • Participate in donor review meetings and ensure high quality presentation of information and discussions.
  • Develop and review the Strategy for :non grant revenue in the two states of West Bengal and Rajasthan
  • Ensure timely dissemination of reports, project information and regular organizational updates for relationship management.
  • Discuss and propose new project ideas and lead/support development of proposals.

4. Project Oversight, Monitoring and Supervision (30%) 

  • Initiative and select projects within the purview of key donor accounts (identified in Point 3 above)
  • Regular internal review with Team/Project Leads/consultants about project progress in terms of key milestones.
  • Monitoring of budgets and payments as against deliverables.
  • Monitoring of impact indicators and provide necessary inputs for achievement.
  • Set up systems and processes for internal monitoring and review.
  • Ensure quality project documentation.
  • Guide and support team for any trouble shooting and operational challenges.
  • Team motivation, capacity building and performance management.
  • Support Finance and Administration on matters related to project compliances.

Qualifications:

Technical/Functional Skills
  • Good knowledge about and exposure to policy and operational issues in sector.
  • High level of writing and communication skills, strong command in English language, both written and verbal
Education & Experience:
  • MBA/ Post graduate from a reputed University/Business school
  • Minimum work experience of 25 years, should have been in a leadership position for more than 5 years
  • Experience of supervising and managing large teams
Skills and competencies:
  • Ability to network and build and maintain strategic relationships with diverse set of stakeholders and to market propositions to stakeholders
  • Understanding of the ecosystem of stakeholders and players including government and non-government agencies
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and including in diverse work environments.
