About the job Sr. Manager/Associate Director - Fundraising
Strategic and Organizational Role
- Develop a deep understanding of org strategy, themes and programmatic focus areas to then build a strong fundraising strategy that will meet goals across Centres, programs and the Institution as a whole
- Create a collaborative and enabling working structure that supports individual as well as organizational fundraising by actively building and maintaining close relationships and understanding ongoing program needs
- Work closely with the Director Development to put in systems and processes for the Development Office and structure the team to best deliver on its goals
- Contribute to overall strategic and financial planning of the Development Office as required
Fundraising Role
- Actively seek out, build and manage a network of HNI Donors, as well as Foundations and Corporates and create opportunities to share and grow the work of the organization
- Build specific fundraising strategies to secure multiple types of large grants, institutional (unrestricted grants and endowments), as well project grants, set and manage targets.
- Actively seek out funding opportunities and grants, develop grant proposals and manage appeals from conceptualization stage to audience targeting, messaging, pitching, closing and ensuring that timely reports are sent.
- Work closely with the Director Development to create new strategies to engage with potential and existing Donors and build visibility.
- Identify strategic non-profit events and awards to attend and network with relevant stakeholders
- Develop CSR/Grant proposals and manage successful grants as per targets
- Organize offline and online events to develop and manage relationships with donors
- Ensure fundraising practices are compliant with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with the Communications Team to ensure Donors are adequately engaged and made aware of the continuing progress
Education & Experience
-15 plus years of overall experience with 8 to 10 years of experience of fundraising for
-Development Sector organizations with a turnover of > 15Cr
-Demonstrated ability of raising large institutional grants (> 5 Cr), unrestricted grants and/or endowments
-Strong networking skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationship of HNIs and/or Family Foundations
-Experience working with Nonprofits in the Conservation/Environment/Sustainability/Biodiversity space is highly desirable
-Experience fundraising with leading bilateral and multilateral donors is an asset
-A self-motivator who can work independently to deliver on a set of goals.
-Excellent organization and communication skills with a proven ability to engage across levels of an organization and across geographies.
-Understanding of fundraising practices, CSR laws, codes of conduct and legislation is a must.
-Strong interpersonal and leadership skills a must, with the ability to motivate and lead small teams.
-Masters degree from an accredited University, with a science background or a professional post graduate degree highly preferred.
