About the position

The Lead for Knowledge Management is a pivotal role dedicated to enhancing the resilience and well-being of migrant communities through strategic and evidence-based approaches. This position focuses on the development, implementation and management of knowledge products that can be utilised by internal and external stakeholders. This role emphasizes knowledge creation and continuous management, ensuring the production of high-quality knowledge products including demand driven curated products that aligns with the requirements of various verticals including programs, government relations and industry partnership.

The Lead will focus on delivering tangible outputs that drive positive change for migrant communities, using research as a guiding tool. While they may conduct some need based formative quantitative and qualitative research for needs assessment, much of their work will involve applying existing research to design effective knowledge products. The role includes knowledge management to ensure that both tacit and explicit knowledge is tapped into and insights are readily available and actionable. The Lead will also work closely with the MEL team to analyse the existing monitoring and evaluation data to measure the impact of knowledge transfer, emphasizing continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social sciences and a passion for turning research into practical, sustainable solutions through collaboration and partnerships.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop demand-driven knowledge products for internal and external stakeholders while creating and managing tacit and explicit knowledge.
  • Lead and supervise creating and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge repository.
  • Lead the facilitation of knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops for staff and partners, including the development of podcasts featuring expert interviews and migrant stories.
  • Contribute to establishing partnerships with academic institutions, think tanks, and knowledge-based organizations to co-create and validate knowledge products.
  • Contribute to developing practical toolkits, and guides for support in areas including industry partnerships, strategic initiatives, community integration etc.
  • Identify and conduct reviews of literature and best practices to inform the development of new knowledge products.
  • Lead and support in collecting and analysing quantitative and qualitative data and studies as needed for creation of knowledge products.
  • Define key metrics to assess the impact and utilization of knowledge products.
  • Work closely with MEL and Communication teams to design the foundation of the knowledge products and dissemination strategies respectively.
  • Contribute to developing strategies to promote the uptake of knowledge products among stakeholders, including communities, government, and industries.
  • Lead the development of basic and advanced learning modules for internal capacity building programs.

Qualification and Experience

Education: Masters degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in knowledge management, or a related field
  • Experience in conducting and utilising existing research.
  • Demonstrated experience in generating knowledge products is highly preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with policymaking processes and ability to translate research into actionable policy briefs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, multistate and multicultural environment.
  • Experience with M&E is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience in vendor management, project management, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong experience in ideating, planning, and executing strategic events is an added bonus.
  • Proficiency in design and visualization tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva to enhance knowledge product aesthetics is preferred.
