About the EquiLead initiative at Climate Asia:

The EquiLead initiative aspires to make organizations working for social impact more inclusive for women and thereby, increase women’s participation in the development workforce, especially at mid-senior levels

EquiLead's foundation stems from Arthan's 2020 Women's Leadership in the Development Sector study (WLIDS) study in collaboration with The Rockefeller Foundation, aiming to foster inclusivity and support women in the development sector to join, grow, and lead. ( Report )in 2020 and today as a full-fledged initiative aspires to make the development sector more inclusive and conducive for women to join, grow, and lead the workforce. Powered by an online platform and offline interventions the initiative will build a community ecosystem for women professionals to access growth opportunities spanning upskilling, mentorship, networking, and collaboration. Additionally, the initiative will work with social purpose organizations providing facilitation, resources, peer learning, and other forms of support that will help them accelerate their gender integration policies and practices.

Position Summary:
EquiLead is seeking an experienced Communications and Community Partnerships professional to assist our efforts in advancing gender equality and promoting an inclusive workplace culture in the development sector. The Assistant Manager will work at the intersection of communications, community, and partnerships that will align with the EquiLead initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

Communications: 70%:

  • Versatile multimedia communications professional with 5-7 years of work experience in content design.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a good command of English
  • Generate compelling content for social media to enhance brand visibility including texts, images, and videos. Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Photoshop will be a bonus.
  • Monitor and analyze social media metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns
  • Assist in the development of content for partnership materials and communications for community and partner outreach, collaborations, pitch decks, newsletters, and presentations.
  • Managing online communities including WhatsApp and LinkedIn Groups of women professionals and organizational representatives interested in gender equity at workplace conversations. This will include driving engagement efforts for online social forums, sourcing and sharing resources to promote engagement by and between members, acknowledge and responding to inquiries through social media platforms, email, and other communication tools.

Partnerships: 30%

  • Support Partnerships work (funding and non-funding collaborations) and provide recommendations to the team on new partnership opportunities and manage key external relationships:
  • Communications: Scope and identify prospective engagements for online events, interviews, workshops, panel discussions, and masterclasses including with Arthan team and larger ecosystem, as well as other visibility and ecosystem-building engagements we could explore including media. This will include operating as a SPOC for partnerships/affiliations/collaborations that will serve to benefit the EquiLead initiative
  • Gender ecosystem: Scope and identify potential partnership opportunities in gender, women’s leadership women empowerment, organisational development, and GEDI for social development space and create a pipeline of prospective partners and opportunities for EquiLead priority
  • Funders: Scope the funder's landscape to identify Indian, Asian, and Global funders who can be reached out for grants to collaborate for growing EquiLead’s reach and impact. Create and maintain a Partnerships Plan a list of potential partners, the nature of the partnership (funding, non-funding), an analysis of their interest areas, and their alignment with EquiLead’s initiatives i.e. what could be our scope of engagement with them
  • Draft, proofread, and submit high-quality proposals for grants and funding opportunities
