Our partner organization is a prominent initiative in India, focused on inspiring millions of children to embrace sports and develop into well-rounded individuals. Founded in 2003, it operates with the conviction that play is essential for a child's overall growth. As a trailblazer in structured physical education, the organization works to enhance children's health and well-being through sports, fostering success both on the field and in life.
They are currently looking to expand their fund-raising mandate to Philanthropy (includes UHNIs/ Family Offices and Large Foundations) - and are planning to on-board a driven campaigner to support this mandate.
Position Summary
- Support the organization's business development and advisory outreach for Philanthropists interested in 'sports giving' - and enlist their support for our key platforms viz. Sport for Change and PathwayZ36.
- Research and help build an ongoing engagement with high-powered business leaders, philanthropists, and foundations - to develop mindshare for sports giving, and meet planned funding goals.
- Identify and build networks with leading experts, and intermediaries to be able to facilitate connections with philanthropists.
- Influence sports giving landscape in India (and globally) - by curating thought-leading content, and appropriate events/ properties to inform philanthropists of sports giving strategy - and establishing the organization as the preeminent organization.
Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
- Masters or other advanced degree in a related field (e.g. business, public policy, finance). Overall relevant professional experience (post-education) of 6 to 10 years.
- Must have demonstrated experience of (successfully) raising funding in the Private Philanthropy space in an individual role. Minimum experience of 2 years.
- Strong knowledge in and experience of business development, sales and project management processes.
- Experience of working with a range of partners such as government, philanthropic foundations, multilateral partners and UHNI/ family offices.
- Strong passion or enthusiasm for sports category - demonstrated by knowledge of key issues in sports (viz. sport for development, and performance)
- Strong analytical, writing, and verbal skills for communicating with a broad and diverse audience.
- Self-starter, with bias for action. Willingness to travel up to 25%
