Organization Overview:

Our partner organization is a non-profit that aims to help social entrepreneurs in India scale and expand their impact. The organization does this by connecting entrepreneurs with mentors, investors, and other resources that can help them grow their ventures. They also run an annual forum that brings together social entrepreneurs, investors, and other stakeholders to share knowledge and build networks.

About the Role:

The organization is seeking a visionary and strategic leader who will be instrumental in driving the fundraising agenda, with a transition to the CEO position contingent on achieving funding goals in the upcoming financial year from both domestic and international markets. This role will lead a team of upto 10 people and will leverage the organization’s entities in both India and the US to access a broad range of capital sources. The leader will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and partners to shape the organization’s strategy, manage its operations, and ensure its financial sustainability. The incumbent will be responsible for leading a team of professionals and working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve the organization's mission of empowering social entrepreneurs in India.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the team, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including social entrepreneurs, investors, donors, government agencies, and other non-profit organizations.
  • Develop and execute organization’s strategic plan, including fundraising, programmatic, and operational goals.
  • Oversee the financial management, including budgeting, accounting, and reporting.
  • Ensure that the programs and services are of high quality and meet the needs of social entrepreneurs.
  • Manage and develop the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, events, and other public forums, advocating for its mission and impact.
  • Stay abreast of trends and developments in the social entrepreneurship sector, and identify opportunities for the organization to leverage its expertise and resources.

Qualifications:

  • At least 10-15 years of senior leadership experience in the non-profit, social enterprise, or corporate sector, with a track record of success in strategic planning, fundraising, and team management.
  • Strong understanding of social entrepreneurship and the challenges and opportunities facing social entrepreneurs in India.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to inspire and influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, and to manage budgets and financial reporting.
  • Experience with fundraising and donor relations, including grant writing and major gifts.
  • Strong team leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and motivate a high-performing team.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree in business, public administration, or a related field is preferred.
