Our partner organization is re-imagining education by building agency in school students, targeting 1 million students in the next 5 years. They do that by leveraging a peer learning-teaching-based approach. The approach emanates from their belief in "Kids first" and their key design principles: Co-created with students, Led by the students & participation by choice.
So far, they have directly worked with 22000+ students across India, improving their learning outcomes (39% from the baseline to Endline, maths) and the sense of ownership & leadership with their programs.

Mission: To create an ecosystem of support for students through peer-based learning.

Role Overview:

You will manage end-to-end implementation of their Program towards Student Agency in the district, starting with implementing the Peer-based program in a district through working with DIET, BEOs, BRPs, BRCs, and CRPS to ensure successful program implementation in all schools by the teachers and outcomes for all the students. You will be a part of the team that lays the foundation for scaling. This will include the following:

1. Implementation

  • Creating an action plan to implement their Peer-based program via DIET and Block-level stakeholders
  • Training & coordinating with DIET, BEOs, BRPs, BRCs, and CRPS for respective schools to ensure successful implementation by teachers
  • Setting up robust processes that enable smooth onboarding districts and blocks
  • Understanding existing structures for different aspects of the program for ease of implementation
  • Regular interaction with all the stakeholders, visiting schools with stakeholders to ensure the quality of the program on the ground, and understanding the implementation gaps
  • Identifying the needs on the ground and designing/creating programs aligning with the vision 

2. Manage relationships:

  • Fostering positive relationships with State officials, district officials, and other stakeholders to get buy-in on the vision to build a strong idea of Student Leadership and agency in them for sustainable effort
  • Engaging DIET, DDPI, and other govt. officials by regularly reporting, initiating formal/informal conversations, and co-creating action plans with them.
  • Identifying and forging partnerships with other CSOs aimed at addressing pressing needs at the school site
  • Manage a team of 4-5 to run the district program in 2 district
  • Define KRA/KPI for individual team members and lead them to success in performance
  • Aligning to the values of the organization, creating a fantastic culture for the team

3. Documenting and reporting

  • Leading efforts to document and report progress & program gaps/challenges every month
  • Adapting tools or surveys to evaluate, collect data, and document stakeholder (DIET, DDPI, BEO, BRP, CRPs, teachers, students) response to intervention
  • Analyzing feedback from BRPs, CRPs, and Teachers to improve the effectiveness of the program and implementation continually
  • Creating monthly reports for funders (some part of the report) and govt. stakeholders

You should have the following:

  • 4-6 years of experience in the education sector & managing a team
  • An undergraduate degree in any stream is a must; a master's degree is a plus
  • Should be a good planner and a go-getter; Should be good with on-ground work; okay to commute long distances on certain days; be patient with the outcomes; getting things done by leveraging relationships; Clear understanding of thoughts while making any decision and excellent communication skills; Ability to manage and inspire people
  • Should have a strong sense of data collection, data analysis, knowledge of statistics, and be able to set structures for operational data
  • Strong work Ethics: Punctuality, Sense of environment, self-driven
  • Interests: Passionate about education; enjoys mentoring and working with school kids.
Note - Regular traveling to both Koppal and Chikkaballapura (Karnataka) (Should be fluent in Kannada, both verbal and reading)
