About the organization:

The organization was founded in 1995, to provide pre-school education to children in Mumbai slums. Over the last 27 years, the organization has grown to be one of the largest non-profit organizations working to provide quality education to children and youth in over 20 states and union territories across the country, through a range of interventions.

The program emphasizes the fundamental importance of universal foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN). But, children, especially those with special needs and disabilities, face significant barriers hindering their acquisition of foundational skills. In India, an estimated 7.8 million children and young individuals had disabilities in 2019.

Position Summary:

We are looking to hire dynamic and proactive individuals as Associate (Digital TLM) who will be charged with end-to-end management of production of digital resources for inclusive education. An ideal applicant will be the one with a good understanding of web accessibility standards, and the know-how of developing accessible content. Prior experience or knowledge of disability or inclusive education is a plus.

Key responsibilities:

++++ means day to day high frequency tasks which may usually be process oriented
+++ means weekly tasks/milestones that may require a bit of cognitive load
++ means the task has to be accomplished once a month
+ means the task needs attention once per quarter that may require creativity, cognition etc.

  • Assist teachers and students in effectively utilizing digital learning resources in classrooms, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting as needed. (++++)
  • End-to-end production management for digital resources. Working in tandem with different teams (Content, Tech, Media, Graphics, and Translation) to identify emerging requirements and plan production strategies. (++++)
  • Collaborate with educators and content specialists to develop digital learning materials tailored to the diverse learning needs of children with disabilities. (++++)
  • Ensure that digital resources are designed with accessibility features, such as compatibility with assistive technologies, alternative formats, and clear navigation for easy use by children with disabilities. (+++)
  • Supporting monitoring of digital resources by regularly updating the Content Dashboard and helping create reports for internal and external communication. (++)
  • Analyzing usage (offline and online) for POS Apps, POS website, and YouTube channels, and giving feedback on creation, collaboration and production strategies. (++)
  • Repository management Support in creating and managing a repository of resources for inclusive education. (++)
  • Ensure optimisation of developed content i.e., create video metadata (titles, tags, thumbnails) and perform SEO to ensure increased visibility. Work with the team to get metadata translated to other languages. (++)
  • Conduct training sessions to familiarize teachers, caregivers, and students with the proper use of digital learning tools and platforms, enhancing their digital literacy and engagement. (+)
Skills:
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support for digital learning resources
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to identify and understand inaccessible features of a content and address those features to make them accessible
  • Data analysis and reporting skills
  • Optimizing content for increased visibility through SEO, creating metadata (titles, tags, and thumbnails)
Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of digital learning platforms and tools commonly used in educational settings. Familiarity with common technical issues and their solutions related to digital learning resources. Understanding of operating systems, browsers, and device compatibility for accessing digital resources.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive education (preferable). Familiarity with web accessibility standards and guidelines
  • Knowledge of MS Excel (moderate to advanced) and should to comfortable to learn new MIS softwares
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) principles and best practices

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or a Master`s in relevant fields (Technology, Computer Science, Media Studies, Disability Studies, etc)
  • Preferably 2 to 3 years of work experience in relevant profiles. Freshers with strong credentials and interest in accessibility and inclusion can also apply.
  • Ability to build rapport with people from various academic, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds
  • Willingness to promote innovation and adapt to change
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with a strong commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure
  • Willingness to travel.
