We are not just shaping a better future; we are preparing workforces and leaders to thrive in the climate solutions landscape. As a collaborative and values-driven team, we are looking for someone equally passionate to lead our grant-making initiatives.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and dynamic Grants Manager to spearhead and manage Climate Asia’s grant portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing multi-year and high-value grants, an understanding of climate and gender equity funding landscapes, and the ability to craft compelling narratives that inspire donor investment.

This role is pivotal to driving Climate Asia’s fundraising goals, ensuring efficient grant administration, donor compliance, and alignment with programmatic priorities. As part of a growing organisation, you will work closely with the Fundraising Senior Manager to meet ambitious targets and foster strong relationships with donors and partners.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Administration and Management

  • Lead the end-to-end management of grants, from crafting proposals to final reporting and closure, across multi-year funding cycles.

  • Develop and maintain grant calendars, ensuring timely submission of deliverables and strict adherence to deadlines.

  • Build detailed budgets, timelines, and measurable outcomes for all grant proposals.

Proposal Development and Donor Engagement

  • Collaborate with the Fundraising Senior Manager to design and review grant proposals, ensuring they meet donor priorities and organizational standards.

  • Craft compelling, results-driven narratives for funding proposals, aligned with Climate Asia’s mission and programmatic goals.

  • Cultivate positive, transparent relationships with donors to ensure continued funding and long-term partnerships.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure strict adherence to donor requirements, funding regulations, and organisational policies.

  • Prepare and submit timely, accurate, and comprehensive progress and financial reports to donors.

  • Coordinate with the finance team to monitor budgets, track expenses, and address discrepancies promptly.

Collaboration Across Entities

  • Partner with Climate Asia entities and stakeholders to align program goals with grant deliverables.

  • Facilitate capacity-building sessions for internal teams on grant requirements and best practices in donor compliance.

Capacity Building and Best Practices

  • Develop tools, templates, and training modules to streamline grant management processes for program teams.

  • Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in grants management, applying insights to enhance internal processes.

Financial Oversight

  • Oversee grant budgets, ensuring effective and transparent utilisation of funds.

  • Leverage your financial acumen to support strategic decisions that maximise donor impact.

Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience (5-10 years) in grants management, donor compliance, and proposal development for high-value donors and funding agencies.

  • Strong knowledge of grant administration, financial management, and donor reporting.

  • Familiarity with climate and gender equity funding landscapes (international foundations, family offices, CSR funding) is a significant advantage.

  • Track record of securing multi-year funding and managing grant portfolios worth $1M+ annually.

  • Exceptional organisational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple grants simultaneously.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with expertise in crafting persuasive proposals and reports.

  • Proficiency in grant management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

  • A proactive and collaborative approach to building partnerships and managing stakeholder relationships.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary, commensurate with experience, along with a flexible, remote-first work environment.

  • A chance to travel and collaborate with global partners across the Global South.

  • Opportunities for professional growth within a dynamic, purpose-driven organisation.

  • The platform to lead innovative, transformative climate solutions and make a measurable impact.
