Chief Executive Officer

Location: India

The client is looking for a dynamic, visionary leader to join an early-stage startup focused on transforming rural development in India to empower farmers, enhance their livelihoods, and create sustainable growth in rural communities.

You'll be leading the strategic direction and operations of the startup, engaging and collaborating with government stakeholders to drive impact and enhancing rural development. At the leadership level, you bring significant experience is guiding your team and setting up robust structures to meet the startup's goals.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the formulation of long-term strategies and annual plans to achieve organisational goals.
• Ensure the implementation of high-impact projects and programs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, donor organizations, and private sector partners among others.
• Identify and secure funding opportunities to support the client's initiatives.
• Manage financial resources, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Establish robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track progress and impact.
• Provide support and guidance to the team to ensure the client cumulatively engages one million women farmers within the next three years.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in rural development, private sector engagement, value chain management, or a related field, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong understanding of rural economies, agricultural value chains, and sustainable development practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
