About the Organisation - 

Established in 1944, this organisation is one of the oldest & largest not-for-profit institutes in India serving children & adults with IDD with a vision of Inclusion of all individuals with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Over the 78 years, they have been able to establish end to end services for Persons with IDD (PwIDDs) and impacted over 1 lakh lives in a holistic way through healthcare, education and skilling services.


Key Responsibilities -

Education Department:

  • Facilitate seamless academics and administration in all four schools (Mumbai, Talegaon, Deolali).
  • Build process efficiency to implement organisation designed curriculum and content. Enable the team to understand the learning level of each student and guide them towards effective inputs to ensure they meet their academic and functional goals.
  • Identify and build teams capacity through enhanced on-job experience, trainings, feedback and knowledge sharing initiatives
  • Closely work with the team to ensure effective and efficient Start-Mid-End line assessments and admissions.
  • Work closely with the Content and Training team to ensure curriculum gaps are address and capacity building of all stakeholders.

Internal and External Stakeholder management:

  • Team up with Content and curriculum team to develop and design a best-in-class curriculum for students with ID.
  • Ensure that the students' therapy needs assessment are in line with their functional and educational goals in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Assess the impact of various interventions by recording and analyzing student data with the support of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team
  • Enable Fundraising and donor management team towards long term engagement of external stakeholders by sharing adequate programmatic data
  • Recruit, develop and retain highly skilled talent in collaboration with the Human Resources team.
  • Plan and manage the teams annual budget in coordination with the Finance team.
  • Identify and share the success stories of students and the Education team in order to spread awareness of the space through the Communication team.
  • Liaison with institutions, educational organizations, universities for placements and internships.
  • Liaison with volunteers for orientation towards best practices in the field of ID.

Minimum Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations - 

  • You are a Master in Special Education / Msc in Human Development / Early
    Childhood Education with experience in Special Education (intellectual disabilities)
    with 12-15 years of experience.
  • An Empathetic leader driven by Excellence, Teamwork and Integrity.
  • Good at communication and interpersonal skills; with fluency in English, Hindi and
    Marathi.
  • Competent in leveraging tech platforms like Google docs, classrooms, forms etc., e-learning platforms.
  • Experience in working with government offices e.g. Samaj Kalyan Office will be an
    added advantage.
