About the role:
This pivotal role combines strategic leadership, project management, and business development responsibilities. The incumbent will be responsible to drive innovation and growth in our partner's Health, Nutrition & WASH portfolio, identifying cutting-edge ideas and cultivating strategic partnerships. S/He will also lead on some of the existing and upcoming projects in the space of Health Systems Strengthening, RMHCH+A, SRH, Health Financing, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Project Management
- Provide visionary leadership to ensure programmatic excellence and financial integrity across projects
- Develop and update comprehensive work plans aligned with beneficiary needs, government priorities, and donor requirements
- Ensure compliance with funder policies (USAID, World Bank, ADB, etc.).
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including funding agencies, Ministry of Health, and implementing partners
- Oversee project budgets, financial operations, and resource allocation
Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance
- Guide the design, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based interventions
- Ensure technical quality and sustainability of all project activities
- Lead the development of robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks
- Review and contribute to technical reports, publications, and knowledge products
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Build, lead, and mentor high-performing teams
- Streamline team efforts to achieve rapid and sustainable results
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
Business Development & Partnerships
- Identify trendsetting ideas in health, nutrition, and WASH sectors
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with donors, partners, and key stakeholders
- Lead proposal development for complex, large-scale bids
- Collaborate with technical experts to identify new business opportunities
- Enhance brand and reputation in the health and development sector
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Public Health, International Development, or related field
- 15+ years of experience in leadership roles within international development, with a focus
- on health programs
- Proven track record in managing large-scale USAID-funded projects
- Expert knowledge of sexual and reproductive health, family planning, and WASH
- programming
- Strong financial management and business development skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Willingness to travel frequently within India
