Position: Compliance Head

The Head of Compliance will ensure that the organization operates in full accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. This role involves leading the compliance function, designing and implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring adherence to applicable laws, ethical standards, and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Oversee the creation and regular updating of compliance policies and procedures in line with evolving laws and best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate compliance risks, providing regular reports to senior management and the board.
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of compliance issues in close collaboration with legal, finance, and operational teams.
  • Coordinate with external regulatory bodies and auditors during compliance assessments and audits.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance-related matters and ethical practices.
  • Establish a system for tracking and reporting compliance metrics and ensure timely completion of compliance reviews.
  • Stay up to date with changes in relevant laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization's operations.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and ethical behavior within the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • CS/CA, Bachelors degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field (Masters degree or professional certification is a plus).
  • 10 years of experience in a compliance role, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Previous experience in trusts, foundations, or non-profit organizations.

Skills:

  • Expertise in managing compliance audits and legal investigations.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations affecting the non-profit or CSR sector.
  • Proficiency in compliance management software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proven track record of managing and mentoring teams.
