About the Role
The Vice President is a key leadership position, directly reporting to the Chairman & Managing Director, and collaborating closely with senior leaders including the Project Director, Senior Advisors, and the Board.
This role offers the opportunity to lead the power sector portfolio, drive business development and strategic growth, and expand the work in India and beyond. The Vice President will bring a blend of entrepreneurial mindset, technical depth, and leadership acumen to scale impact and deliver value across projects and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership
- Lead project delivery within the power sector, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
- Oversee project teams, ensuring adherence to budgets, quality benchmarks, and client expectations.
- Apply cutting-edge innovations in energy systems and technology solutions to strengthen project outcomes.
- Represent the company in client interactions, regulatory forums, and industry networks.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth across teams.
2. Business Development & Partnerships
- Drive business growth through proactive opportunity identification, relationship building, and proposal development.
- Develop and deliver concept notes, pitch decks, and strategic presentations to secure new projects and partnerships.
- Strengthen existing client relationships and onboard new ones across consulting organizations, think tanks, private sector players, and foundations.
- Lead efforts to increase revenue by 20-30% annually, contributing to doubling topline and profits over a 3-year horizon.
3. Strategic Leadership
- Provide strategic direction for portfolio expansion across emerging areas of the energy transition.
- Guide innovation, knowledge management, and thought leadership within the organization.

Ensure robust governance, compliance, and financial management practices
- Contribute to organizational planning, talent development, and ecosystem engagement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Engineering, Management, Economics, Public Policy, or Architecture, with relevant specialization.
- 12-15+ years of progressive experience in the power and energy sector, ideally across consulting, policy, or program delivery.
- Proven track record of entrepreneurial or leadership experience, including setting up teams, managing multi-stakeholder projects, and driving business growth.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, partnership management, and revenue generation.
- Strong understanding of power systems, energy transition, and sustainable development principles.
- Experience working with private sector, government institutions, multilateral and bilateral agencies, and civil society.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; ability to engage with regulators, senior bureaucrats, and corporate leaders.
