About the job Head of Partnerships - Asia
The organization is seeking a high-energy, independently operating fundraising leader who can build and drive its revenue engine without relying on the founders to open every door. This is not a conventional NGO fundraising role. It is a high-accountability, outcome-driven position for someone who thrives in ambiguity, executes with urgency, and is energised by the challenge of building something from the ground up.
The organisation has deep credibility, a powerful story, and a network that spans India, Europe, and the United States. What it needs now is a driven, resourceful professional who can translate that into sustainable, diversified funding.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Independent Fundraising & Revenue Generation
- Own and deliver on an annual fundraising target of ₹33–40 Crore in Year 1, scaling significantly thereafter.
- Drive end-to-end fundraising across CSR, individual HNIs/UHNIs, family foundations, diaspora giving, and institutional philanthropies.
- Build and manage a robust, diversified donor pipeline from prospect research and outreach to proposal submission, cultivation, and renewal.
- Operate proactively and independently; generate meetings, pitch opportunities, and close grants without waiting for founder involvement.
2. Institutional & Foundation Fundraising
- Identify and secure multi-year grants from Indian and global foundations
- Manage bilateral and multilateral donor relationships
- Write and lead high-quality proposal development, concept notes, full proposals, due diligence responses, and impact reports.
3. CSR & Corporate Partnerships
- Develop and close CSR partnerships with Indian corporates and MNCs
- Build long-term corporate relationships that go beyond one-year grants, employee engagement, cause campaigns, and multi-year partnerships.
4. Systems, Strategy & Team Building
- Build and institutionalise fundraising systems - CRM, donor segmentation, pipeline tracking, and grant calendars - so fundraising is proactive, not reactive.
- Structure and lead a small fundraising team over time; mentor and build capacity within the organisation.
- Develop compelling collateral: pitch decks, impact reports, donor communications, and case for support documents.
- Work closely with the programmes and communications teams
Essential Qualifications
- 12–18 years of demonstrated experience in fundraising, business development, or capital raising - with a clear, verifiable personal track record.
- Proven ability to independently raise significant funds (₹10 Cr+ annually at individual portfolio level) from multiple donor types.
- Experience engaging CSR, individual philanthropists (HNIs/UHNIs), and foundations - not just one stream.
- Strong proposal writing and storytelling skills; ability to translate complex programme work into compelling donor narratives.
- Track record of building and closing multi-year partnerships - not just transactional one-time grants.
- Comfort working in a lean, high-ownership environment - this role requires building the systems, not just using them.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within India and internationally (Europe, US, UK).
