About the job Programs and Partnerships Director – Climate Finance/ Climate Tech/Construction/ Industrial Waste
About the Organisation
This is a well-established, India-based research and action organisation working at the intersection of sustainability, technology, and enterprise development. It operates across climate, industrial ecology, livelihoods, and governance — translating evidence into policy, technology, and ground-level impact. The organisation has deep engagement with government systems, international funders, research institutions, and private sector actors across the Global South.
People who thrive here combine rigour with execution — and are motivated by long-term impact over short-term career capital.
The Opportunity
This is a senior leadership role within the organisation's resource sustainability domain — overseeing programmes spanning climate finance, clean technology, construction materials, and industrial waste. It is a headship role with succession orientation: the successful candidate will operate as the de facto domain leader, managing multi-disciplinary teams, institutional partnerships, and the full programme-to-partnership lifecycle.
This role is designed for someone who has moved beyond functional expertise into institutional leadership — and who wants to do that work in a mission-aligned context.
What You Will Own
- Set strategic direction, priorities, and performance frameworks for the domain — spanning research, technology transfer, partnerships, and project delivery
- Lead the organisation's engagement with senior external stakeholders: government bodies, multilateral funders, research institutions, and industry partners
- Drive scale-up of technology-enabled solutions with clear impact and commercial viability outcomes
- Oversee P&L-linked initiatives, new programme development, and long-term growth opportunities within the domain
- Build and strengthen second-line leadership — mentor domain heads and senior managers, create depth and succession
- Ensure cross-functional integration across technology development, business development, operations, and partnerships
- Act as a culture carrier: model intellectual rigour, collaborative decision-making, and mission commitment
Who This Is For
The profile we are looking for is specific. We are not sourcing broadly — we are looking for a particular kind of leader.
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in sustainability, climate, infrastructure, technology transfer, or related domains
- Proven track record managing large, multi-disciplinary teams and complex programme portfolios with senior stakeholder accountability
