About the Role

We are seeking an experienced communications professional to lead internal and strategic communications for one of our nonprofit partners. The role focuses on organizational storytelling, internal alignment, and brand integrity within a large, mission-driven institution.

This is a senior position working closely with leadership and program teams to ensure consistent, high-quality, and risk-aware communication across both internal and external platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement internal communication strategies that strengthen organizational coherence and brand alignment.
  • Support leadership with talking points, messaging, and internal updates.
  • Oversee the creation of annual reports, program narratives, and donor communication materials.
  • Ensure brand consistency, tone alignment, and integrity across all communication channels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate, risk-averse content across digital and internal platforms.
  • Coach internal stakeholders on communication best practices, tone, and messaging discipline.
  • Provide communications support to the fundraising function through structured and compliant storytelling.

Ideal Profile:

  • 10-12 years of experience in communications, preferably within the nonprofit or development sector.
  • Strong understanding of internal communications, organizational storytelling, and brand governance.
  • Skilled in crafting content for diverse audiences, including donors and internal teams
  • Experience in managing communication protocols, risk management, and content accuracy
  • Excellent writing, editing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Prior experience in team coaching or mentoring in communications is preferred.
