Role Overview:
- We are seeking a passionate and experienced Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Manager to lead and drive the organizations health and safety strategy. This key role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with corporate ESG goals, international safety standards, and local regulations while cultivating a proactive, safety-first culture across all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement company-wide health and safety policies aligned with ESG strategies, OHS standards, and legal requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across people, tasks, equipment, and locations, and updating controls as needed.
- Set and manage OHS objectives and action plans for operational units.
- Establish and manage permit-to-work systems and job safety analyses (JSA) for non-routine tasks.
- Apply change management principles to assess safety risks during operational transitions.
- Create a structured process for reporting and mitigating hazards and unsafe behaviors, fostering a culture of accountability.
- Design and deliver OHS training programs for staff and subcontractors.
- Lead incident investigations and enforce corrective/preventive measures.
- Stay current on relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and safety walks with leadership involvement.
- Oversee emergency response planning and readiness.
- Maintain safety KPIs and analyze trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure contractor compliance with safety protocols.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to address safety requirements and concerns.
- Prepare and present monthly OHS performance reports to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- 78 years of experience in OHS, with a minimum of 4 years in a managerial role in logistics, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
- Hands-on experience with quality system audits.
- Deep understanding of safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
