Our client - a new Silicon Valley based profitable B2C product startup building innovative mobile solutions for the planet, is now looking for a Manual QA Engineer with basic automation knowledge.

Based in Silicon Valley and backed by top-tier VCs is a new mobile innovator delivering exciting new products for consumers across the planet.
The company has a flagship VPN application that drives ~10M MAUs. There are others in the portfolio as well as others in development.

About Role:


We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual QA Engineer with a foundational knowledge of test automation. This role involves primarily manual testing of mobile (iOS, Android), desktop (Windows), web applications, frontend, and API services, with opportunities to contribute to basic automation tasks. Familiarity or previous experience in a VPN or cybersecurity company is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Execute manual test cases across mobile, desktop, web, frontend applications, and API services to ensure software quality.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects clearly and accurately.
  • Perform regression testing to validate resolved issues.
  • Collaborate with the development and product teams to enhance overall software quality.
  • Assist in writing basic automation scripts and support automation team activities.
  • Contribute to improving QA processes and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in manual software testing across various platforms (mobile, desktop, web, frontend, and APIs).
  • Basic knowledge or initial experience with automation testing tools (e.g., Appium, Selenium, XCUITest, Espresso, WinAppDriver, Postman, Cypress).
  • Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and test management software.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and source control systems (Git).
  • Solid understanding of software QA methodologies and processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills in written and verbal form.
  • Experience with databases (SQL), virtual machines, and REST APIs.

  • Previous experience or familiarity with VPN applications or cybersecurity environments.
  • Understanding of networking concepts.
  • Experience with analytics (Firebase, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Tools: Postman, will be a strong plus to know Charles, Jmeter
