About the Role:
We are seeking an qualified Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support across the full development and sales cycle, combining corporate and commercial legal responsibilities with direct client assistance on property transactions, banking procedures, immigration matters, and tax-related considerations. You`ll collaborate with an entrepreneurial team in a dynamic and international environment.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate key legal agreements related to real estate development, including:
- architectural and construction contracts;
- residential sale and purchase agreements;
- brokerage, cooperation, and partnership agreements.
- Coordinate external legal advisors whenever specialized expertise is required.
- Identify legal risks and ensure compliance with Cyprus legislation throughout transactions and negotiations.
- Support acquisitions of real estate assets and land plots.
- Manage corporate legal matters, including incorporation and administration of SPVs and Cyprus companies established for individual development projects.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including:
- AML/KYC obligations (both company compliance and client onboarding);
- GDPR;
- consumer protection regulations applicable to off-plan property sales.
- Provide legal support throughout the development lifecycle, including planning permissions, building permits, town planning matters, and interaction with government authorities.
- Prepare legal correspondence and submissions to governmental bodies.
- Liaise with external law firms and legal advisors, keeping management informed and preparing legal reports.
Client Support:
- Review and amend Sale & Purchase Agreements based on client requirements.
- Assist with registration of agreements before the relevant Cyprus authorities.
- Liaise with banks and support clients in preparing documentation required for KYC and due diligence procedures.
- Coordinate clients on immigration and tax residency matters in cooperation with external immigration and tax advisors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
- 4–5 years of post-qualification legal experience, preferably in Cyprus within a real estate development company or a leading law firm.
- Strong knowledge of Cyprus real estate, corporate, and contract law.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to resolve complex legal issues efficiently.
- Practical experience dealing with Cyprus governmental authorities and regulatory procedures.
- Strong client relationship and communication skills, with confidence in working directly with clients and financial institutions.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
- Greek and/or Russian would be considered a strong advantage.
