The Senior Data Analyst will research, recommend, and partner with multiple IT, Security, Architecture, and business teams to champion and implement improved security approaches enhancing information security for the company. They will lead security initiatives, provide support to multiple simultaneous projects, and work with project teams across many different technical disciplines and geographic locations. This role will be key in providing insight for management to make informed data-driven risk decisions.

Essential Duties/responsibilities

  • Research, recommend, and partner with other technical and business teams to implement information security approaches and partner to implement change to enhance information security.
  • Evaluate and monitor information security related process and configurations across multiple company platforms and tools
  • Collaborate with IT, Security, Architecture and Business teams to provide meaningful and actionable analysis to stakeholders, that accelerates our risk reduction in an informed and cohesive manner.
  • Responsible for assisting Technology Services and Operations organization (TSO) with data identification, collection, analysis, and reporting of key performance and risk indicators.
  • The Data Analyst will provide key information to management by using statistical tools to interpret data sets, and preparing reports that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions based on relevant findings.
  • The Data Analyst will also assist in the development and enhancement of reporting.
  • Integrate data from various sources, provide high-level insight to senior management.
  • Lead the creation of standardized reports and dashboards for the enterprise.
  • Process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Work with analytic toolsets to provide data-driven solutions.
  • Lead the creation of application modules to enable data-integrated solutions.
  • Work closely with each functional lead to identify meaningful measures and optimize reporting
  • Working with stakeholders to obtain and follow-up on KRI/KPI action plans
  • Works with information security leadership to develop strategies and plans to enforce security requirements and address identified risks.
  • Reports to Arsenault's management concerning residual risk, vulnerabilities and other security exposures, including misuse of information assets and noncompliance.
  • Plays an advisory role in application development or acquisition projects to assess security requirements and controls and to ensure that security controls are implemented as planned.
  • Collaborates on critical technology projects to ensure that security issues are addressed throughout the project life cycle.
  • Works with Arsenault's technology department and members of the information security team to identify, select and implement technical controls.
  • Develops security processes and procedures and supports service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure that security controls are managed and maintained.
  • Advises security administrators on normal and exception-based processing of security authorization requests.
  • Researches, evaluates, and recommends information-security-related hardware and software, including developing business cases for security investments.
  • Provides second- and third-level support and analysis during and after a security incident.
  • Assists security administrators and technology staff in the resolution of reported security incidents.
  • Participates in security investigations and compliance reviews, as requested by internal or external auditors.
  • Acts as a liaison between incident response leads and subject matter experts.
  • Monitors daily or weekly reports and security logs for unusual events.
  • Attends and participates in monthly security tabletop exercises.

Other Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • ServiceNow and Tableau and experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge on OS (Linux, Windows), Enterprise applications (Java, Middleware, or other applications)
  • Ability to multi-task, given various task assignments, assisting management in prioritization of tasks
  • CISA Certified Information Security Auditor preferred
  • CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of information risk concepts and principles, as a means of relating business needs to security controls.
  • Knowledge of and experience in developing and documenting security architecture and plans, including strategic, tactical and project plans.
  • Experience with common information security management frameworks, such as the ITIL, COBIT and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) frameworks.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of project management, and experience with creating and managing project plans, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk assessment methods and technologies.
  • Proficiency in performing risk, business impact, control, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of mainstream operating systems and a wide range of security technologies, such as network security appliances, identity, and access management (IAM) systems, anti-malware solutions, automated policy compliance tools, and desktop security tools.
  • Experience in developing, documenting, and maintaining security policies, processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and the associated network protocols and concepts.
  • Audit, compliance, or governance experience is preferred but not required.

Work Environment & Other Information

  • Minimal Travel Required. Travel limited to training, occasional team meetings, and projects.
  • On call after hours and weekend support is required, as needed.

Education

Job requirements and qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or other related business field preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Experience

  • 5+ years of applicable experience in a Data analytics and reporting role
  • Microsoft Office Proficient with products such as Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
  • Proficient in SQL/R/Python or other programming languages
