Position Summary:
The role of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager involves spearheading the establishment and commencement of a team of Manufacturing Engineers and technicians in the new manufacturing facility located in Monterrey, Mexico. This position encompasses a combination of technical and managerial duties, requiring the execution of strategic technical projects while also providing support for the plant's daily operational needs. The managerial responsibilities encompass various areas, including but not limited to the implementation of Lean practices, product launches and enhancements, process development, implementation of process control strategies, resolution of safety and environmental issues, project management, and deployment of Operation Technology. Additionally, this role will be responsible for overseeing the engineering team's execution of cost reduction projects, which may involve preparing Capital Expenditure Requests accompanied by financial justifications for the adoption of new technology, advanced equipment, and/or processes. Reports to a Plant Manager.

Key Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering or Technical Di0scipline; Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role. Experience working in a maquiladora is a plus.
- Extensive project management experience, inclusive of budgeting, scheduling, critical path and task / timeline management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead facilitated problem solving, planning and brain storming sessions.
- Fluent in both Spanish and English.

Systems Experience:
- Intermediate Excel & Power Point skills, advanced preferred.

- 2D & 3D CAD and design.
Technical Expertise:
- Experience with lean and continuous improvement process philosophy.
- Experience with industrial equipment and related performance measurements such as OEE.
- Ability to manage Capital Expenditure projects from conception to completion.
- Ability to quickly research and find technical information on the internet, in textbooks and in journals.
- Strongly preferred technical knowledge/experience: welding, robotics/PLC, sheet metal fabrication, plastics, metal machining, mechanical assembly, product testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills using formal methods and tools.
- Demonstrated strong collection and analysis and summarization of complex data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the identification, initiation, and completion of profit improvement projects, providing recommendations to leadership and innovation teams on process improvements.
- Collaborate with other company sites in benchmarking, researching, evaluating, and specifying new technology and/or equipment for process improvement projects.
- Participate in regional and cross-functional analysis of safety, quality, capability, capacity, and financial impact of new technology/equipment/process on Plant Operations, developing and implementing integration strategies.
- Supervise Capital Expenditure Request processes and define financial justification.
- Lead implementation of new technology and/or equipment in the Factory, tracking completion against the plan, preparing SOPs, and delivering training.
- Provide feedback to Marketing and Engineering departments on product redesign or new product development projects.
- Manage the addition of new products to existing assembly lines or set up new assembly lines for products.
- Audit existing processes for conformance to standards.
- Participate in the Daily Tier communication process, prioritizing the Engineering Team for tactical support while balancing strategic projects.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to team members.
