Position Summary: 

Leading the implementation, initiation, and continuous adherence to EHS regulations, policies, and standards in the newly established manufacturing facility in Monterrey, Mexico is the primary responsibility of the EH&S Manager. Collaborating closely with the Plant Manager and the Monterrey Project team, this individual will ensure the organization possesses robust EHS management programs that effectively mitigate risks and promote a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace. Additionally, the EH&S Manager must demonstrate leadership and management skills in overseeing EH&S programs, fostering relationships across all organizational levels, and cultivating a work environment that emphasizes open communication, positive networking, and continuous improvement in EH&S practices.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated EHS experience in a heavy-manufacturing environment. Experience in the metal mechanic industry is a plus. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and STPS regulatory requirements for critical safety programs and environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Risk management experience to be able to guide the risks mitigation efforts. 
  • Demonstrated great results when leading teams, manage programs and new or existing projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in both Spanish and English.

Education Required:

  • B.S. degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain site EH&S standards, processes, and programs for various areas of safety and environmental compliance.
  • Lead the site Incident management program, including incident reporting, investigation, corrective actions, and program monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain an EH&S awareness and training program for employees.
  • Conduct routine inspections to assess equipment, hazards, and environmental conditions.
  • Monitor and report key EH&S performance indicators to the plant leadership team.
  • Collaborate with regional and global EHS leaders to share best practices and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead site efforts related to environmental sustainability.
  • Review new equipment, processes, products, or services for hazards and environmental impact.
  • Complete required environmental reports and monitoring activities.
  • Ensure site compliance with legal and other applicable EHS requirements.
  • Maintain positive relationships with local and state regulatory officials.
  • Acquire a good working knowledge of site operations and serve as a contributing member of the Site Leadership Team.
