Materials Manager - MX State Excellent opportunity for a dynamic person to join a manufacturing company as a Materials Manager in the State of Mexico. The successful candidate needs to have experience in leading Sourcing, Purchasing, MRP, Supply Chain Management, and Logistics. This person will manage and support the SC team in a Manufacturing Industry.

Experience & Knowledge Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (required), Master's is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of Manager experience
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred)
  • BOM Management Systems
  • 5 years of experience in Manufacturing environment (Maquiladora) 
  • In-depth knowledge of current best practices in Purchasing
  • Experience using ERP or other systems
  • Supplier development (global and domestic)
  • Bilingual in English Spanish

Essential Duties:

  • Planned, develop, and continuously updated Purchasing and Sourcing strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate operation KPIs for the Purchasing department and conduct performance appraisals for direct reports.
  • Actively and aggressively pursue year-over-year cost reduction.
  • Determine material requirements from customer demand sales forecast, customer orders, production schedules, and bills of materials.
  • Monitor and control freight costs for direct materials.
  • Maintains and aligns safe and healthy company policies that adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Formulate KPIs as required to measure performance for new processes or activities.
  • Lead production plans and raw material purchases to meet Customer OTD on-time delivery, Past due, and Inventory levels target volume MTS, MTO, MTA manufacturing environment.
  • Develops and maintains ongoing supplier relationships, providing the company with quality, on-time delivery, cost and lead times, and legal matters affecting purchasing policies.
  • Identifies cost savings opportunities and assists in developing innovative approaches to supply chain management to achieve yearly cost reductions set by the materials manager.
  • Responsible for the Physical Inventory process and the accuracy of inventory counts by implementing and managing an inventory control system, in conjunction with Finance, capable of identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and taking corrective action to guard against inconsistencies in the future.
