About the job Controller

We seek a highly experienced Plant Controller to join our world-class manufacturing business. As an Individual Contributor Role, the Plant Controller will Leadership team to provide financial support, manage cost accounting controls, and develop processes and analytics aligned with business operations goals. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist in the provision of US GAAP and SOX Compliance and work closely with the US Financial Team and Global Business.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required for CPA/CMA. Master is a plus.
  • +10 years of progressive Cost Accounting, and Financial Controlling experience in a Maquiladora environment.
  • Fully Bilingual in Spanish/English.
  • Experience in group reporting, forecasting, and cash flow budgeting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in inventory controls including Physical Inventory & Cycle Count.
  • Strong working knowledge of Internal Control Processes.
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements is a plus.
  • Strong Manufacturing and Cost Accounting knowledge - including standard costing environment.
  • Highly experienced with ERP, MS Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, and Word proficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide the plant leadership team with key financial support, including strong business analysis and reporting.
  • Manage product cost maintenance, annual cost revision process, key operational performance metrics, and ad-hoc reporting requirements.
  • Participate in cost-reduction efforts by identifying, evaluating, and monitoring programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure control and reporting (management, statutory, GAAP) requirements are met Conduct cost analysis of operational spending/cost structure, including cost/benefit, incremental capacity, and make versus buy decision analysis.
  • Support Finance and Global Business Services for the month-end close process, account reconciliations, manual journal entries, etc.
  • Provide oversight and support to Cost Accounting and FP&A functions to analyze manufacturing cost, standard margin, and gross margin variances.
  • Comply with business policy and procedures, local statutory and legal requirements, and Sarbanes-Oxley documentation, assessment, and evaluation requirements.
  • Participate in the development of capital expenditure requests Provide financial oversight on inventory and fixed assets, safeguarding of assets, cycle count, physical count adjustments, and excess & obsolescence reserve.
