Position: Plant Controller

Location: Cd Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico

Join a World Class Manufacturing Company in Cd Juarez, Chihuahua. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Controller to be a key member of our finance team, supporting the plant's leadership in driving productivity, cost optimization, and financial excellence.

Education and Knowledge:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• +5 years of experience as a Controller in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with the Maquiladora System (IMMEX).
• Manufacturing experience is required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Knowledge of local and federal events.
• Working knowledge of business systems/ERP

General Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Plant Manager, Plant leaders, and Americas Leadership Team for result explanation, process improvement, project management, efficiency identification, and complex analysis.
• Provide proactive consultation on complex financial and operational matters to departmental leaders, contributing to business decisions.
• Drive improvements in plant material usage, and scrap rates, and collaborate with the Supply Chain for optimized material costs and inventory levels.
• Manage direct and indirect labor reporting and assist in driving efficiencies.
• Assist in the management, reporting, and analysis of overhead accounts.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and ethical standards.
• Develop, monitor, and oversee the implementation of financial, administrative, and internal controls for the maquiladora operation.
• Ensure compliance with local tax and accounting laws, serving as the subject matter finance expert in the country.
• Analyze monthly results, prepare quarterly forecasts, and the annual plan, supporting the Sales & Operations Planning process.
• Own the capital expense process for the Company in Mexico, including tracking, forecasting, project justification, and approval.
• Drive key cost-out and productivity projects as needed.
• Manage month-end closing, prepare monthly financial statements, and communicate variances with recommended actions.
• Share best practices across regional and global finance teams, promoting process improvements, financial modeling, and procedural changes.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Supervise the Department of Accounting and Customs.
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure compliance with American and Mexican laws.
• Provide financial information to internal and external managers and present it to the corporation.
• Ensure that the processes are generating and providing the planned outputs.
• Maintain the integrity of the Quality System and implement changes in the ISO 9001 Quality system.
• Determine the context of the organization and understand the needs and expectations of stakeholders relevant to the ISO 9001 Quality System.
• Identify risks and opportunities in the financial area and overall plant operations.
