DOT Inspector - Pecos Area, TX
Our world-class client is looking for a DOT Inspector in the Pecos area in TX. critical role in ensuring that our company's vehicles and operations comply with all federal, state, and local DOT regulations. You will conduct thorough inspections, assess compliance, and provide guidance to ensure the safety and legality of our transportation activity. Will also manage the DOT team, provide guidance and support, and foster a culture of safety and excellence. Will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on DOT performance, identifying and resolving issues, and initiating continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a DOT Inspector or in a similar regulatory compliance role.
- High School Degree or GED
- 3-5+ years of prior similar experience
- Tech-savvy with Apps & Software
- Working Knowledge of HSE and DOT regulations
- Ability to Travel - Company Vehicle Provided
Demonstrated Competencies:
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local DOT regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in computer applications related to inspection
- Compliance reporting
Primarily Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and unscheduled inspections of company vehicles, equipment, and facilities to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
- Perform comprehensive audits of driver records, logs, and documentation to verify compliance with hours-of-service regulations
- Review and analyze accident reports and conduct post-accident investigations, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Collaborate with our safety team to develop and implement safety training programs for drivers and other employees.
- Stay current with changes in DOT regulations and communicate updates and compliance requirements to the organization.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure vehicle maintenance and repair compliance with DOT standards.
- Assist in preparing for DOT audits and inspections, serving as a point of contact for DOT officials.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of inspections, violations, and compliance activities.
- Review and maintain driver qualification (DQ) files for completeness and accuracy.
- Collaborates with DOT regulated employees, Human Resources, Safety, and the Operations departments to obtain DQ file documents.
Salary:
$75,000 to $80,000 based on experience.
