This is a unique opportunity to join a world-class manufacturing business that is Starting its operations in Monterrey, Mexico.
The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation, start-up, and continuous operations of the manufacturing process areas at the new facility in Monterrey, Mexico. This report directly to the Plant Manager and working closely with him and the Monterrey Project team, the Operations Manager will support the implementation of new technologies, equipment, and processes to ensure safe and efficient production.
Success in this role requires demonstrated experience in applying lean practices, driving product and process improvements, implementing new processes, equipment, and methods, as well as improving safety and environmental performance.
Position eligible only for Mexican Payroll.

Job Requirements and Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in the Engineering field. with significant coursework in engineering principles. Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical engineering focus areas are preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, product assembly, and process improvement.
- Demonstrated project management skills and sound technical judgment.
- People development and management, strategic planning, risk management, and mitigation are required.
- Creating strong leadership teams.
- Leading through the change required.
- Competent in employing continuous improvement tools including innovation and lean in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong customer service focus and collaborative style. Able to engage and align the location to drive improvements in the plant. Excellence table stakes of safety, quality, and delivery.
- CAD/Drafting experience is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication (English/Spanish)

Principal Accountabilities:
- Lead the start-up of the manufacturing process into a new facility in Monterrey, Mexico. Including serving as the expert in and trainer on products, processes, and equipment.
- Support plant safety including ensuring employees wear personal protective equipment; ensuring leaders/employees follow correct safety policy and procedures, and that proper training and awareness are provided.
- Drive implementation of programs essential to the Company culture in all areas of the manufacturing facility including but not limited to, Behavior-based safety, environmental compliance, quality, housekeeping, continuous improvement, security, and ongoing compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
- Compliance with all local, regional, national, company, and all other applicable standards, laws, and procedures.
- Supervise plant manufacturing operations including, but not limited to, sheet metal fabrication, welding, coil fabrication, assembly, and testing.
- Drives established production schedules for completion to standards and on-time delivery to customers. This will include workforce labor planning and scheduling.
- Promote cross-training and skills development of employees to enhance workforce flexibility.
- Work cross-functionally to analyze the financial impact of the new technology, equipment, and process regionally.
- Supervise Manufacturing Capital Expenditure Request processes, defining financial justification.
- Lead implementation of new technology, processes, and/or equipment in the plant; track completion against the plan and drive training with new resources.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Engineering departments on product redesign or new product development and launch activities.
- Collaborate with other company sites to develop, implement, or update systems and methods in line with Company best practices.
- Work in the plant environment to manage the addition of new products to existing assembly lines or to set up new assembly lines for products.
- Audit existing processes for conformance to standards.
- Meet productivity, cost, and quality targets stated in the fiscal plan.
- Promote continuous improvement efforts. Implement lean principles and manufacturing methods, including Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, etc.
- Ensure high quality and pristine appearance of finished product prior to shipment.
- Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital. Assure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customer's expectations.
- Establish team and individual objectives for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
- Manage spending within an established budget with a focus on reducing costs by efficient labor use, achieving maximum product yield, and maintaining efficient material usage while incurring minimum operating expenses. The incumbent is expected to recommend/implement changes that will improve upon these items.
- Oversees physical maintenance of all site property, including grounds. Promptly advises and coordinates with Plant Engineering Manager about any maintenance issues.
