Arkansas Talent Group is exclusively searching for the next hands-on Non Profit Controller for our mission driven organization! The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our mission and growth. Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management:

    • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard organizational assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
    • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
    • Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to provide timely and accurate financial information to senior management and the Board of Directors.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with program managers and department heads.
    • Monitor budget performance and variance analysis, identifying areas of concern and recommending corrective actions as needed.
    • Prepare financial forecasts and projections to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
  3. Grants Management:
    • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and regulations, including timely submission of financial reports and documentation.
  4. Audit and Compliance:

    • Coordinate annual financial audits and any other external audits or reviews as required.
    • Work closely with auditors to provide requested documentation and address audit findings and recommendations.
    • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and best practices, and ensure organizational compliance.
  5. Financial Planning and Analysis:

    • Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support organizational growth and sustainability.
    • Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to assess the potential impact of strategic initiatives and investment decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in financial management in the non-profit sector
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including GAAP and non-profit accounting standards. 
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems; experience with QuickBooks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels, board members, and external stakeholders.
