Arkansas Talent Group is seeking a polished, compassionate, and customer-focused Receptionist for a respected medical clinic in Hot Springs, Arkansas. This is a temporary assignment expected to last at least two weeks, with the potential to be extended based on business needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organized professional who enjoys serving as the first point of contact for patients, families, providers, and visitors while helping a busy clinic operate smoothly.
The Receptionist will create a welcoming, professional, and patient-centered experience for everyone who calls or visits the clinic. This individual will manage incoming calls, greet and check in patients, assist with appointment scheduling, direct questions to the appropriate team members, and provide general administrative support to the clinical and office staff.
The ideal candidate will bring a calm, helpful demeanor; strong attention to detail; excellent communication skills; and the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Job Duties
- Greet patients, family members, vendors, and visitors in a warm, professional, and respectful manner.
- Answer, screen, and route a high volume of incoming telephone calls; take accurate messages and direct patient questions to the appropriate staff member.
- Check patients in and out, verify demographic and insurance information as directed, and collect applicable paperwork or forms.
- Assist with appointment scheduling, confirmations, cancellations, and rescheduling requests.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front-desk and waiting-area environment.
- Respond to general patient inquiries in person, by phone, and by email while escalating clinical, billing, prescription, or urgent concerns to the appropriate team member.
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail, deliveries, faxes, and incoming correspondence.
- Assist with data entry, scanning, filing, copying, and preparation of routine office documents.
- Support physicians, clinical staff, billing personnel, and office leadership with administrative projects as needed.
- Help maintain appointment calendars, patient records, and front-office documentation.
- Track front-office supplies and assist with ordering and inventory needs.
- Handle patient, clinic, and financial information with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Represent the clinic with a courteous, service-oriented attitude at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional administrative, healthcare, or customer-service experience is strongly preferred.
- Previous receptionist, front-desk, medical office, healthcare administration, hospitality, or customer-service experience preferred.
- Prior experience working in a medical clinic, physician's office, dental office, or other healthcare environment is a plus.
- Professional phone presence and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, frequent interruptions, and a steady flow of calls and patients.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and dependable follow-through.
- Comfortable learning medical scheduling software, electronic health record systems, and internal office procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently.
