Cost Accountant

Arkansas Talent Group is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Accounting Clerk to join our construction client's team in Conway. This role will support the accounting and finance functions across multiple construction projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, reporting, and collaboration with Project Managers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Construction Accounting Support:

• Record and track project costs, including labor, materials, subcontractor invoices, and overhead allocations.
• Reconcile job cost accounts and analyze variances from budgets
• Review and verify AP invoices for accuracy, ensuring proper coding to projects and compliance with contracts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures related to construction jobs.
• Prepare reports summarizing project costs, commitments, and variances for internal and owner review.
• Assist in owner billing and tracking percentage-of-completion for ongoing projects.
• Support Project Managers and Accounting team with ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.

Requirements:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. 
• Proficiency in Quickbooks

• Previous experience in construction accounting or cost accounting preferred.
