Arkansas Talent Group is working with a RAPIDLY GROWING company within the Fashion Industry is searching for an experienced Controller who has a background in manufacturing and warehouse distribution. This role requires an individual with the desire and capability to manage and provide leadership to their team daily.

A top-notch Controller should possess a strong accounting background, strong analytical skills, be extremely organized, knowledge of cost accounting, great time management skills, experience in the preparation of financial statements, reporting, financial analysis and HR basics.

Other responsibilities would include oversight of the routine accounting operations, preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll, landed cost and container management.

Supervision

· Supervision over employees in the Accounting Department and potentially the IT Department.

· The ability to lead, collaborate, influence and build relationships with all levels of the organization and manage a team to implement new projects.

· Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training of accounting employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

· Manages and provides leadership for the daily routine activities of the Accounting and IT projects, including setting direction for the department.

Essential Functions

· Manage and coordinate the process of closing the general ledger monthly including the preparation of the financial statements and various other monthly reports.

· Prepare account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts each month end.

· Review timesheets, generate and submit payroll to 3rd party processor.

· Maintain accuracy of all intercompany transactions.

· Manage internal controls and policies to ensure conformance and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other statutory requirements.

· Optimizing cash flow by maintaining daily and monthly bank reconciliations for all banks, credit cards, and loans, manage incoming and outgoing wire and payments.

· Annual sales and use tax analysis and reporting.

· General Ledger analysis of all expenses posted for accuracy to account and period.

· Coordinate and monitor container activity, pricing and landing.

· Keep abreast of the events or situations that might affect container shipping.

· Main point of contact for all freight movement on behalf of the company.

· Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that reflects professionalism and respect.

· Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

· Must be self-motivated and have excellent organizational skills.

· Always maintain strict confidence.

· Maintain all personnel files in accordance with OSHA and labor regulations.

· Performs other related work, as required and/or as needed.

Experience

· Well versed in principles of accounting, bookkeeping, cost accounting and inventory management

· Minimum of 5 to 7 years proven working experience in the role of Controller.

· Experience using fully integrated ERP systems such as SAP or Great Plains.

· PC literate and proficient with MS Office Suite including advanced Excel skills.

· Bachelors degree in accounting.
