Arkansas Talent Group is exclusively working with an Arkansas-based, global leader in their industry to help them find their Director of Safety and Environmental Compliance to be based in their newest manufacturing facility in the Little Rock, AR Metropolitan area.

The Director of Safety and Environmental Compliance is a pivotal role in ensuring the health and safety of all employees, and the overall success of the organization. This position requires an experienced, detail-oriented leader to establish and enforce safety policies that comply with health and safety laws. You will be responsible for identifying hazards, discovering and recommending improvements, and executing safety programs to maintain a safe and compliant workplace. The ability to effectively communicate safety guidelines to a diverse, multidisciplinary workforce is essential. The goal is to ensure the workplace not only complies with all legal requirements but also fosters a proactive culture of occupational health and safety.

Duties will include:

  • Develop and implement health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal requirement
  • Establish and enforce policies to cultivate a strong culture of health and safety within the workplace
  • Assess practices, procedures, and facilities to identify risks and ensure legal compliance
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention and document in company compliance systems
  • Regularly inspect employee practices and operations to monitor adherence to safety policies and laws
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, documenting findings in the companys compliance systems
  • Provide recommendations for addressing issues, improving practices, or introducing new preventive measures
  • Prepare and present monthly and annual reports on health and safety trends, issues, and compliance to both company leadership and relevant state authorities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum 3+ years experience in a Safety Management or Safety Director role
  • Proven experience within the beverage industry, with a strong background in dairy operations 
  • Knowledge of Worker Compensation laws, OSHA regulations, and industry-specific safety standards
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing effective safety policies and programs
  • Strong ability to develop and produce reports, as well as create and implement safety policies
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively train and engage employees at all levels
  • Skilled in data analysis and conducting risk assessments
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
