Arkansas Talent Group is searching for a Director of Accounting & Financial Reporting to join our client's dynamic organization. This pivotal role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and oversees a team of 20+ professionals across various financial functions. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and deep expertise in financial management to drive our organization's financial health and growth. This is a Hybrid Flexible role (1-2 days WFH).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimize the daily operations of the Finance Department, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
  • Oversee the production of comprehensive financial reports, including monthly and quarterly statements, for all organizational entities
  • Spearhead financial planning and analysis initiatives, providing crucial insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Manage the annual budgeting process, working closely with various departments to ensure accurate forecasting and resource allocation
  • Direct treasury operations, including cash management and investment strategies
  • Ensure robust internal controls and risk management practices are in place and continuously improved
  • Lead the coordination of external audits and tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Drive the implementation and optimization of financial systems and technologies to enhance departmental efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Accounting, CPA or CMA required
  • Previous public accounting experience highly desired
  • 8-10+ years of progressive experience in financial management roles within large, complex organizations (must have multi-entity consolidations)
  • Demonstrated expertise in GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic approach to financial management
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and data analysis tools
  • Outstanding communication skills, able to effectively present complex financial information to diverse audiences
  • Experience in healthcare finance is a significant advantage
