About the job Controller
Our mid sized client seeks a Controller to add to their leadership team. The chosen Controller will oversee all financial aspects of the business and will be responsible for managing financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in a similar role, strong leadership abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is a multi-faceted, complex, faced paced environment. Someone in the healthcare or nonprofit space would be ideal.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Monitor key financial metrics and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure to optimize financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards.
- Evaluate and recommend investments, mergers, and acquisitions to support business objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks, investors, and other financial partners.
- Collaborate with other departments to drive cross-functional initiatives and support strategic decision-making.
- Stay informed about industry trends, economic developments, and best practices in financial management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience working in the healthcare/non profit space is a plus.
- Proficiency in Quickbooks and Excel
