Our Hot Springs manufacturing client seeks a Senior Accountant due to growth! This is a new role due to the company's success and future plans for growth. This is an exciting opportunity to not only handle the month end, GL, recons, and financial prep and reporting, but also data analytics for the organization. Position Overview: As a Senior Accountant in the manufacturing environment, you will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and implementing effective accounting procedures. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, provide strategic insights, and support decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, extensive knowledge of accounting principles, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Monitor inventory accounting activities, including valuation, reconciliation, and inventory control.
- Analyze variances in manufacturing costs and provide recommendations for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare and review budgeting and forecasting reports, identifying key drivers and trends impacting financial performance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Conduct regular financial audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
- Provide support for external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to auditor inquiries.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in manufacturing accounting.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 4-5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with cost accounting principles preferred, but not required
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present findings to senior management.
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision in financial reporting.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
