Cost Analyst- Decision Support

Arkansas Talent Group is proud to partner with one of Arkansas Largest Hospitals to help them find a Financial Analyst that will mainly support the Cost Accounting functions for the various hospitals in their portfolio. This is in their FP&A Department and will work directly for a VP and have a lot of exposure to Executive Management. The position has a lot of growth opportunities as well, with the track record to prove it!

Duties would include:

• Performing monthly cost accounting functions, including allocation and reclassification of expenses
• Establishing accurate cost data for in organizational decision-making
• Assist with improving financial performance for the organization
• Analyzing financial reports that include profitability analysis, financial planning and forecasting, capital management, and many others
• Utilize VBA, SQL, and Google Apps Script code to develop automation of data reconciliations and statistical reporting, providing additional value to the organization through increased capacity for more work to be completed with a static number of FTEs
• Daily tracking and maintenance of the performance improvement for the company
• Maintenance could include: data analysis, data analytics, and tracking KPIs within the departments
• Analyzing financial reports that include profitability analysis, financial planning and forecasting, capital management, and many others
• Mentor multiple new hires/ less-tenured employees on the monthly cost accounting process, assisted in answering their questions as they eventually performed the process independently, and worked with them to design and implement process improvements
• Perform ad hoc profitability and statistical analysis at the request of various hospital administrators and clinicians

Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Business, preferrable Accounting or Finance

• 2-4 years of Cost Accounting and Financial Analysis, Healthcare experience is a plus 

• Eager to learn and problem solve

• Strong technical software background- advanced Excel 

• Strong communication and presentation skills
