About the job Plant Controller (Hybrid)
Arkansas Talent Group is proud to exclusively partner with a Family Office/Private Equity Group in the Fayetteville, AR market to help them find a Plant Controller. The Plant Controller holds a vital position in overseeing, monitoring, and analyzing the financial performance of the company. This role involves managing accounting activities for two manufacturing operations in Northwest Arkansas. Key responsibilities include preparing financial reports and statements, analyzing accounting documents, posting journal entries, and providing actionable insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making. The Plant Controller will report directly to the Corporate Controller and be intimately involved with the CFO and other C-Suite team members.
Duties would include:
- Oversee plant-level budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Manage the preparation and dissemination of financial statements in compliance with GAAP
- Conduct detailed cost analysis, including production costs, material consumption, and inventory levels
- Support month-end closing processes, including reconciliations and accruals
- Act as a subject matter expert in general accounting and manufacturing plant financial operations
- Oversee, manage, and evaluate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring all transactions are accurately coded
- Prepare and record journal entries while maintaining proper documentation
- Conduct balance sheet reviews and perform detailed cash management tasks, including reporting
- Compile comprehensive monthly financial packages with statements, variance analyses, and performance metrics
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances monthly and offer actionable insights to enhance financial outcomes
- Manage fixed assets by maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with policies
- Assist in creating annual budgets and forecasts to align with organizational goals
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary reports and documentation promptly
- Provide strategic advice to senior management and other departments based on financial insights
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
- CPA is a plus
- 7+ Years of progressive accounting experience, 3+ in a leadership role
- Experience in Manufacturing, Multi plant highly preferred
- Experience in M&A, Private Equity, is a huge plus
- Strong technical accounting skills and GAAP knowledge
- Strong communication skills to make presentations of findings to Executive Team
- NetSuite experience is a plus
