Senior Cost Accountant

Arkansas Talent Group is proud to partner with a manufacturing company based in Heber Springs, AR to help them find a Senior Cost Accountant. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting manufacturing operations by providing accurate cost analysis, identifying opportunities for cost savings, and contributing to strategic decision-making.

Duties will include:

• Perform detailed cost analysis to assess manufacturing expenses, including direct materials, labor, and overhead costs
• Develop and maintain cost accounting processes and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting 
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management review and decision-making
• Analyze variances between actual and standard costs, investigating discrepancies and identifying root causes
• Collaborate with plant managers and operations teams to develop annual budgets and forecasts for manufacturing expenses
• Monitor budget performance and provide insights to management on cost trends and potential risks
• Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as needed
• Evaluate inventory levels and turnover rates to optimize working capital and minimize carrying costs 
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within manufacturing operations
• Partner with cross-functional teams to implement cost-reduction initiatives and efficiency enhancements
• Drive continuous improvement in cost accounting practices and systems to support business growth and scalability

Ideal candidate will possess:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting required
• 3+ years of accounting experience required
• Experience and knowledge in cost accounting required
• Strong technical accounting skills and GAAP knowledge
• Highly proficient with accounting software
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
